History

The South Perth Baseball Club was established in 1947 with Jim Dore as its first coach.  The club was A grade (now known as State League) Premiers in 1947, 1948, 1951, 1952, 1967, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2012 & 2013. The AAA/Reserves team were Premiers in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005 & 2010 making South Perth one of the most successful baseball clubs in Western Australia.

South Perth has been recognised as 'Club of the Year' by the state's governing body Baseball WA a record 12 times in the 19 years of the award.

Over the years the club has produced many outstanding players who have represented the State and Australia at both Junior and Senior levels, as well as played professional baseball around the world. Mark Ettles, Peter Moylan and Warwick Saupold have all made it to 'The Show', with Saupold currently on the roster for the Detroit Tigers.

The club colours are royal blue and white. The motto since 2000 ... 'GO US!'

 

Membership

Membership is open to any resident of WA. Our local drawing areas include South Perth, Como, Kensington, Manning, Bentley, St James, Ferndale, Wilson, Lynwood, Parkwood, Willetton, Bullcreek, Leeming, Riverton, Rossmoyne, Salters Point and Waterford. All senior players become members upon payment of their registration fees, as is one parent per junior registration. Non-players over the age of 18 can also become social members of the club. Membership entitles attending all baseball club meetings and functions, including voting rights at the Annual General Meeting

Teams

The South Perth Baseball Club is the most successful baseball club in Western Australia. The club provides competitive, social and fun environments for players of all ages, currently fielding Senior, Junior, and Women's baseball teams. T-Ball is also offered by South Perth, and is played at the nearby Centenary Park in the Canning Cougars competition.
