The club is pleased to announce that Devin Mahoney will be joining us for Season 2016/17. Devin has recently completed his study at Saint Louis University, where he studied Psychology.

Cubbie abroad Tyler Anderson first floated the idea of playing down under to Devin in late 2016, and confirmed in May that Devin is extremely excited to join us for the coming summer. A 6'3" southpaw from California, Devin didn't need to be sold on the opportunity to see what the Perth beaches have to offer!

Devin will be filling the role of a two-way player this year for the Cubbies, and should be a major on-field asset to the club. In his Senior year, Devin put together a 6-0 record in 15 appearances (11 starts) over 70.2 innings, whilst also appearing in the hitting lineup. In 39 games. Devin hit .242 with 8 doubles, 6 HR and 25 RBI, and will no doubt flourish when we set a short-porch in right field this season.

Devin is currently playing for the Sydney Sooners in the Nova Scotia Baseball League, and will make a quick trip home before first inspecting the cricket pitch at Cubbie Central in late September. As always, the club is seeking a host family for Devin whilst he is enjoying his time in Perth. Devin will be provided with a vehicle by the club, and will be assisted in finding work. Hosting an import is an opportunity to make a lifelong friend, or at least someone to talk baseball with every week!
